The inclusion of vector graphics and organic shapes plays a crucial role in elevating the visual appeal of this poster. Integrating the coffee bean image’s shape with the organic elements at the top and bottom, as well as behind the call-to-action, ensures a cohesive and engaging design.
The incorporation of rounded elements imparts a friendly and approachable ambiance to the poster, steering away from a corporate aesthetic. The primary objective of the design is to convey to guests that Community Cup is a welcoming coffee shop open to all.
A deliberate choice was made not to incorporate a pattern into the outer edges, as they are not the focal point of the design. The omission of a pattern ensures that the viewer’s attention is not overwhelmed and remains focused on the essential information.
Achieving equilibrium in the design was accomplished by strategically utilizing negative space—enough to prevent a sense of emptiness, yet sufficient to afford the viewer breathing room. The deliberate incorporation of positive space enhances the overall dimension of the composition.
While vector graphics and organic space exhibit a flat nature individually, introducing layering to these elements enhances the overall dimension. The objective was to achieve a balanced image without altering the typography; therefore, repetition of organic shapes was employed to harmonize the design.
Solution
Attend the grand opening of the Community Cup! This poster employs a restrained color palette for heightened visual appeal, ensuring ample contrast for swift information absorption. In an attempt to integrate the flow of steam from the cup, it is subtly featured along the edges of the design. This poster was crafted for a fictional coffee shop.
